Make a gift tax-free with an IRA

If you are 70½ years old or older and have a traditional Individual Retirement Account (IRA), you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD or IRA Charitable Rollover) to support Beyond Hunger. You can give any amount up to $100,000 per year from your IRA directly to Beyond Hunger without having to pay income taxes on the money. If you are 72 or older an IRA Charitable Rollover gift can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distribution (RMD) and you will pay no taxes on the QCD gift.

To Qualify
•    You must be 70½ or older at the time of your gift
•    The transfer must go directly from your IRA to Beyond Hunger
•    Your total annual IRA gift(s) cannot exceed $100,000
•    Your gift must be made by December 31 (see note below)

Next Steps
•    Contact your IRA administrator
•    Ask that your qualified charitable distribution be sent directly to:

Beyond Hunger
848 Lake St
Oak Park, Illinois 60301

•   Please make sure that your name and address are included in the funds transfer

NOTE: If you have set up a checking account with your IRA administrator, please remember that QCD checks must be deposited by 12/31 to count for this years taxes. If your distribution is coming directly from your IRA account, the distribution check will only need to be dated by 12/31.
