CAN DO RESULTS ARE IN
The results are in! As part of April's CAN DO Community Challenge, our area schools raised over $21,000, collected over 1,800 lbs of food, and spread awareness through classroom activities, promotions, and cooking videos.
We’d like to give a special shout-out to the following schools that went above and beyond with their anti-hunger advocacy this spring:
Brooks Middle School
Holmes Elementary
Whittier Elementary
If you haven’t checked out the cooking and promotional videos from the Challenge yet, head over to our YouTube channel to check out the full list and follow us for more fun throughout the year.
And finally, the winner of this year’s competition is….. Oak Park River Forest High School. Through a variety of activities, videos, plus donations, they took the top spot with 56,865 points. The Freshman Class Council and the Faculty Senate did an incredible job leading the charge. Mann Elementary is this year’s runner-up with an impressive 49,296 points.
Well done, everyone!
On behalf of all of us at Beyond Hunger, thank you for activating your schools, students, and the larger community to help end local hunger.
