We're Hiring: Community Resource Assistant
- Work closely with the Nutrition Education team to prepare for various outreach events with community partners.
- Act as a point of contact for Beyond Hunger at various outreach events, such as community fairs, home delivery distributions, and community partner sites during outreach.
- Utilize community connections to connect neighbors to Beyond Hunger resources, including home delivery, nutrition education, and benefits services programming.
- Screen homebound individuals for resource needs during home visits. Examples include making referrals to the nutrition education program, requesting necessary menu alterations for groceries based on chronic conditions or physical needs, and completing, etc.
- Assist potential participants with onboarding paperwork and yearly redetermination paperwork for home delivery program.
- Work with community partners to identify and assess the gaps in grocery access for homebound adults.
- Fulfill day-to-day programmatic tasks, as needed and directed by program supervisor(s).
- Ensure accurate and up to date client data by utilizing our Salesforce database.

Qualifications:
- Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
- Experience or interest in the health and/or nutrition field.
- Competent culinary skills with an understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to maintain and update schedule.
- Ability to work closely with related organizational programs/teams to build integrated programming for participants.
- Flexibility in scheduling and approach.
- Highly skilled communication and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to respond to electronic communication in a timely manner.
- Engaging and motivating presentation skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver effective topic and food demonstration presentations, with the assistance of team dietitians.
- Comfortable using technology and able to quickly learn new tools; experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Food Handler certificate (ServSafe) or food sanitation license equivalent preferred.
Working Relationships and Reporting Line:
This position reports to the Nutrition Education and Benefits Services (NEBS) Program Manager. Any hours over 20 hours per week must be reviewed and approved ahead of time by NEBS Manager.
Multi-level workspace that is not fully accessible to the mobility impaired. You must be physically capable of walking up and down stairs, able to lift at least 50 pounds, and be on your feet throughout your work day. Workplace is a smoke and drug free environment. Equal opportunity employer.
