Last Chance to ROCK OUT with Bill at FitzGerald’s Nightclub

Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry’s 2017 Fall Benefit Concert

      FitzGerald’s Nightclub
      Saturday, November 18th
Tickets: $175 (includes appetizers & drinks)

Oak Park, IL August 18, 2017-

Southern, soul-rock group St. Paul and The Broken Bones will perform on Saturday, November 18th at FitzGerald’s Nightclub (Berwyn).  With the recent announcement of Bill FitzGerald’s retirement, this might be your last chance to ROCK OUT with Bill while supporting Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry in our mission to end local hunger.

For nearly 40 years, FitzGerald’s Nightclub has been a legendary music venue right in our own backyard.  Called “A Musical Gem” by the New York Times, FitzGerald’s has booked outstanding performers like Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Neville Brothers, Steve Earle, Clifton Chenier, and Marcia Ball.  Bill FitzGerald’s critically-acclaimed annual four-day American Music Festival has grown to feature more than 50 artists, both national and international acts.  His contribution to the music scene and his eye for talent are obvious, but what might go unnoticed is the role FitzGerald’s has played in the community—hosting countless community events from fundraisers to weddings to wakes.  It’s why FitzGerald’s is beloved, not only by the surrounding suburbs, but across all of Chicagoland.  In fact, the site has been dubbed “Chicago Venues That Matter The Most” by the Chicago Tribune. The family has recently offered the club for sale, so don't miss out on the chance to see the place while it's rocking!

Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry has been fortunate to partner with FitzGerald’s for the past five years hosting benefit concerts that feed the soul while feeding our hungry neighbors. Luminaries like Los Lobos, Jason Isbell, and John Hiatt have loved performing in this intimate, but powerful setting while lending their talents to the greater good.  St. Paul and the Broken Bones promises to keep the party—and the goodwill—going.

Can’t make it to FitzGerald’s? St. Paul and The Broken Bones will also perform at historic, Thalia Hall in Chicago (Pilsen) on Friday, November 17th.  Standing Room Only Tickets are available for $57 at http://thaliahallchicago.com/home/?event_id=7570515

Proceeds from both concerts will directly benefit the nearly 50,000 individuals Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry serves every year. Last year we raised enough to feed 13,000 individuals!

Special thanks to our presenting sponsors Scott and Julie Moller, Bill and Emily Reedy, and WXRT for bringing this incredible Southern talent to the Windy City.

About St. Paul and The Broken Bones:
What started as a self-released EP, Greetings from St. Paul and The Broken Bones, catapulted into the Southern soul-rock band known today as St. Paul and The Broken Bones.  The band signed with Single Lock Records to release their first full album, Half the City, in 2014, featuring songs like “Call Me” and “Broken Bones and Pocket Change.”  The distinctive sound and soulful grit struck a deep chord across the nation, grabbing the attention of media sources like Rolling Stone magazine, Southern Living, and NPR where they performed on “Tiny Desk Concert.”

Their second album, Sea of Noise, released in 2016, hit new heights, further distinguishing the uniqueness of the band. The album touches upon the themes of redemption, salvation, and hope amidst a world of noise.  In addition to their time in the studio, St. Paul and The Broken Bones has toured throughout the U.S. and Europe, performed at major music festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza, and opened for legends like The Rolling Stones.
This eight member squad includes Paul Janeway (Lead Vocals), Browan Lollar (Guitars, Vocals), Andrew Lee (Drums, Percussion), Jesse Phillips (Bass), Allen Branstetter (Trumpet), Al Gamble (Organ, Piano), Jason Mingledorff (Saxophone, Flute), and Chad Fisher (Trombone).
