H.A.M .Book Club

Starting in September, we will read The New Breadline by Jean-Martin Bauer. In The New Breadline, Jean-Martin Bauer blends personal stories from his global work with the World Food Programme and sharp analysis to reveal how systemic inequities—not scarcity—fuel hunger both in the U.S. and worldwide. Through these reflections, he not only exposes the flaws in our food and policy systems but also offers a hopeful vision for how collective action and reform can pave the way toward ending food insecurity. The book was the winner of the 2025 Zocalo Book Prize and Editors Choice for The New York Times Book review.
