Schedule: Monday through Friday
Salary Range: $48,000 - $52,000
 
Beyond Hunger is harnessing the power of communities to end hunger. An award-winning direct service agency, we serve residents of 13 ZIP codes on the West Side of Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Last year we provided critical food assistance and programming to over 69,000 individuals. Our energetic and fulfilling work environment is resourced by an operating budget of $5.4 million, 20 full-time staff members, 4 part-time staff, 1 full-time VISTA member, over 1300 active volunteers—and possibly you.
 
We are seeking someone as passionate as we are about ending hunger. By helping us reduce the food access barriers to quality and nutritious food, this is your opportunity to play a vital role in creating a hunger-free community. Established in 2016, Beyond Hunger's Home Delivery program mission is focused on supporting neighbors who have difficulty visiting our physical food pantry. The program currently serves about 350 households each month in Oak Park, River Forest and the Austin neighborhood of Chicago (60651/60644).

What you will be doing:

 

Program Design & Support

  • Collaborate with the Home Delivery team to manage day-to-day operations and project planning.
  • The work of the Home Delivery Program Coordinator is a hybrid of on-site physical work and program planning and client outreach.
  • Maintain relationships with referral partners and community organizations.
  • Support the Home Delivery program through weekly staff deliveries for program and participants who require more attention and patience.
  • Manage the Home Delivery direct line for any incoming inquiries from clients and work with the team to address their concerns.
  • Generate and execute innovative strategies to achieve annual program goals established by the Home Delivery Manager.
  • Enhance program efficiency by designing and implementing streamlined processes to minimize errors and maximize effectiveness.
  • Perform loading, unloading, and delivery of packaged groceries to homebound clients within Beyond Hunger's service areas from week to week.
  • Ensure meticulous attention to detail when reviewing orders to guarantee accurate delivery for each client.

Data monitoring, analysis, and assessment

  • Support the Home Delivery team in implementing client assessments and surveys, contributing valuable insights to inform program development.
  • Analyze, report, and present findings from client surveys and order data to inform program decision-making.
  • Utilize analysis of past client orders to forecast future food demand accurately.
  • Edit and transfer client data across various platforms, including Excel, Salesforce, and Google Sheets.
  • Maintain and update grocery offerings in the Salesforce Home Delivery app to align with monthly programming.
  • Assist with other Salesforce or technology projects as required by the Home Delivery Manager.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Have a valid driver's license for at least 3 consecutive years with an excellent record.
  • Experience operating a non-CDL commercial van (preferred).
  • Food sanitation licensure or ability to achieve once hired.
  • Must be able to life at least 50 pounds and an ability to perform all duties associated with a physically strenuous position.
  • Excellent interpersonal problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with and encourage interaction between people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of Oak Park, River Forest, and Chicago's Austin neighborhood highly preferred. Residents living in Beyond Hunger's service area encouraged to apply.
  • Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred.

Environment

Multi-level workspace is not fully accessible to the mobility impaired. You must be physically capable of walking up and down stairs, able to lift at least 50 pounds, and be on your feet throughout your workday. Workplace is a smoke and drug free environment. Equal opportunity employer.
